Monster From the Ocean Floor
This is an original painting homage to Roger Corman's Z-movie drive-in classic, "Monster From the Ocean Floor"! But mainly, the homage is it's wonderful poster art since - tho I luvvit - the actual movie is a real chore to sit thru! This is an ORIGINAL PAINTING - not a reproduction or print - which measures 24 in. x 36 inches (2 feet wide by 3 feet high). The fantastic colors of the original poster have been faithfully reproduced and I did my best to keep the spirit of the poster intact.

This is NOT a print, it's a painting using an image from the original poster publicizing the movie (see above). The painting is not an exact copy of the poster, it's been enhanced so the composition works without the original text to make a dynamic piece of art in it's own right. The painting is oil and acrylic on prepared board (1/8th in thick) and is ready to frame, mount or hang. (It can also stand on it's own) Masonite is a composite wood board that is tremendously durable and has a smooth surface which allows for high detail paint work.

I think the amazing posters from the 50s and 60s, with their incredible energy, exorbitant colors and outlandish images deserve to be remembered and honored.
