An original PAINTING homage to Christopher Lee's role as the Frankenstein monster in the classic Hammer Horror film “Curse of Frankenstein” and the wonderful poster art from that movie.

This is NOT a print or reproduction. The image is taken from an original poster publicizing the 1957 film. The painting is acrylic on 24" x 24" Masonite board (1/8^th in) and is ready to frame, mount or hang. (It can also "stand" on it's own) Masonite is a composite wood board that is super-durable and has a smooth surface which allows for high detail paint work.

I believe the classic (and maybe not so classic) movie posters from the 50s and early 60s - with their incredible energy, outlandish colors and over-the-top images - deserve to be remembered and honored. That era was the "Golden Age" for drive-ins and B movies but it was also the apex of poster art. Movie posters still used hand-painted artwork (as opposed to photos) almost exclusively, and illustration techniques had reached a level never attained before (or since).
