I believe the classic (and not so classic) movie posters from the 50s and early 60s - with their incredible energy, outlandish colors and over-the-top images - deserve to be remembered and honored. To me, the era was a "Golden Age" for drive-ins and B movies, and was also the apex of movie poster art. Posters still used hand-painted artwork (as opposed to photos), and illustration techniques had reached a level never attained before. In addition, the subject matter was allowed unprecedented freedom – all of which resulted in some of the most amazing one-sheet art ever made!
